ONTARIO ENVIRONMENTAL TRADESHOW - MAY 14-15/2003

Scientists using NASA satellite data have found the most intense global pollution from fires occurred during droughts caused by El Nino.

State officials slammed proposed federal pollution rules Monday, saying they would undermine New York's progress in cleaning the air and cause more respiratory disease.

EPA TO CUT AIR POLLUTION FROM OFF-ROAD DIESEL VEHICLES
The Bush administration on Tuesday proposed to cut harmful air emissions from tractors, bulldozers and other off-road diesel vehicles more than 90% by 2010 in a plan praised by environmental groups.

RESEARCHERS LOOKING AT DOG LUNGS IN AIR POLLUTION PROJECT
Universities and other research institutions from a handful of countries, mainly in Asia, have set up a joint research project on dogs' lungs to investigate the effects of air pollution, local researchers said Friday.
