A Brief Listing of some of Lakes
Environmental Technical Personnel
Dr. Jesse L. Thé,
P.Eng.
President and founding partner of Lakes Environmental Software. Senior author of ISC View,
Screen View, BPIP View, SLAB View, Rammet View, and WRPLOT View.
Dr. Thé is also a
professor at the University of Waterloo, and a visiting professor at the University of
Santa Catarina, where he supervises grad students and is responsible for graduate level
environmental management courses.
Co-authored and
participated in the development of Flowpath 5.0 & 5.1, Visual MODFLOW 1.0, AirFlow SVE
and other software products, which sold thousands of copies worldwide, while partner and
director in a groundwater consulting company.
Coordinated and
participated in air pollution and groundwater projects in Canada, the United States, and
abroad.

Currently developing non-orthogonal control volume codes for the Canadian
National Research Council. In 1993 obtained his doctoral degree from University of Waterloo
(considered the highest quality comprehensive Canadian university). His area of
concentration was in moving non-orthogonal control volume formulation in Computational
Fluid Dynamics .
In march 1993,
joined an environmental consulting partnership and was a founding partner on its
incorporation.
In June 1995, he
left the previous company and founded Lakes Environmental Consultants Inc.
December 1999 is
the schedule for the 1st edition of Dr. Thé's air quality dispersion modeling book
"Air Pollution Modeling - A Visual Approach". An abridged version of this book
will be available in the Internet.

Cristiane L. Thé, M.A.Sc.
Director and founding partner of Lakes Environmental Software. Co-author of ISC View,
Screen View, BPIP View, SLAB View, Rammet View, and WRPLOT View.
In 1992 obtained
her master's degree in Civil Engineering from University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

First woman to receive a Master's Gold Medal for academic performance from
University of Waterloo. In 1985 graduated in Architecture and Urban Planning, also receiving a Gold
Medal for academic performance.
Cristiane is an
expert in interface ergonomics, software usability, and code friendliness. She is also
responsible for software quality in Lakes Environmental Software.

Michael A. Johnson, B.Sc.
Head of the Software Development Group of Lakes Environmental Software. Co-author of ISC View, BPIP
View, SLAB View, Rammet View, and WRPLOT View.
Mr. Johnson is an
expert in environmental software development including: object oriented development,
design and analysis, computer graphics, and software system construction.
B.Sc. in Computer
Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Chief programmer for Visual MODFLOW versions 1.0 to 1.5. Visual MODFLOW is a
graphical pre and post-processor for the popular USGS MODFLOW model. Co-developer of SpillCAD
versions 1.0 to 3.0. SpillCAD is a graphical CAD and database package used to evaluate and
plan remediation for sub-surface LNAPL spills.
Co-developer of
the Bio-Sensor software system, a real-time water quality monitoring system deployed
throughout the world.

Dr. Achilles Karagiozis
Senior technical reviewer at Lakes Environmental Software. Author of Latenite, a
moisture transport visual code.
Co-author of
Screen View and technical reviewer of ISC View.

Research officer at Canadian National Research Council. In 1992 obtained his
doctoral degree in Fluids and Thermal Sciences from the University of Waterloo in Canada.
Dr. Karagiozis has
published advanced scientific papers in the fields of Fluid Mechanics and Thermal
Sciences.
