HEALTH ASPECTS OF AIR POLLUTION - WHO ECEH REPORT
The World Health Organization European Centre for Environment and Health (WHO ECEH) has released a summary report on the health impacts of air pollution on children. Many adverse effects have been linked to exposure to air pollution, including an increased risk of cardiopulmonary disease and a reduction in life expectancy for people living in European cities. This study concludes it is reasonable to assume that a reduction in air pollution will lead to considerable health benefits.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT TO BE KEY FOCUS FOR CHINA OVER NEXT 5 YEARS
China will give priorities to the development of the urban public transportation system in the next five years. Chinese Vice Minister of Construction Qiu Baoxing made the remarks at the National Urban Public Transportation Conference.

NEARLY 100 MILLION IN UNITED STATES ARE BREATHING PARTICULATES, SAYS EPA
Almost 100 million people in 21 U.S. states breathe unhealthy levels of tiny particles spewed by coal-burning power plants, cars, and factories, said the Environmental Protection Agency.

CAL3QHCR MODEL ERRORS
CALRoads View users will want to pay special attention: EPA has posted an array-out-of-bounds error has been discovered in the CAL3QHCR model with regard to the Calm Duration Frequency table. Whenever the number of calms for any particular hour exceeds 200, the upper array bound is exceeded. This could corrupt some data values produced by the model. A fix will be made and posted as soon as possible.
