TRACKING AMERICA'S EXPORTED AIR POLLUTION
A consortium of 100 scientists from 6 countries is cooperating on a 6-week study of air pollution as it leaves the east coast of the United States, flows across the Atlantic Ocean, and hunkers down over Europe. Knowing the quantity of air pollution that America exports towards the east will help European Union officials set reasonable emissions goals for member nations and understand the health effects of this unwanted import.

U.S. EPA RECOMPILES ISC-PRIME
The ISC-PRIME model has been recompiled, using a more up-to-date 32-bit compiler. It is hoped this will alleviate some of the segment fault problems users have experienced when running the older 16-bit compiled version of ISC-PRIME on Windows XP based systems. It is not necessary for ISC-AERMOD View users to download this executable. Lakes Environmental detected these XP compatibility issues, and compiled the U.S. EPA ISC-PRIME source code with a 32-bit compiler. This executable (PRIMEL.EXE) is included in your software installation. For more details, feel free to contact our technical support team at support@weblakes.com

FULL IMPACT OF GLOBAL WARMING MASKED BY AIR POLLUTION
Speaking at the 13th World Clean Air and Environmental Protection congress, Professor Meinrat Andreae of the Max Planck Institute in Germany said that the presence of aerosol gases in the atmosphere could have actually been protecting the earth from feeling the full force of climate change.
