Monthly Modeling Tip
|
The FIXISHD Utility
|
Some AERMET users may have noticed that the current US EPA AERMET program (dated 06341) will abort during Stage
1 processing when using some ISHD (TD-3505) surface data files.
This problem is due to the format of these particular ISHD files, which lack a certain delimiter that AERMET
is expecting. Full details are available at the SCRAM website.
The US EPA has created a utility called FIXISHD, which is a DOS prompt program which will identify and
replace all records with this formatting problem in an ISHD data file, inserting the required delimiter.
The FIXISHD utility, and a complete description of the issue, can be downloaded from the EPA SCRAM
website:
https://www.epa.gov/scrammetobsdata_procaccprogs.htm#aermet
Note: The FIXISHD utility is designed to be an interim solution; future versions of the AERMET model
should include a fix for this problem.
|
Remember: We are currently accepting
submissions for the Monthly Modeling Tip which appears in
our newsletters. If
you have a modeling tip that may benefit a variety of people,
please send it to us at support@weblakes.com.
Your name and the name of your organization will appear below
the tip providing you with greater exposure.
