Does Lakes provide travel arrangements or offer hotel discounts to course attendees travelling to attend a course?


Lakes Environmental does not provide travel arrangements or offer hotel discounts. The hotels listed in the ‘Courses’ section of our website are the hotels within the closest distance to the training facility. Lakes Environmental is not affiliated with any of the listed hotels.



Can I provide a purchase order to enroll in the course?


We do accept purchase orders for enrollment as we understand that some accounting departments must receive an invoice prior to dispersing payment. Once a purchase order is received, an invoice will be sent to the course participant via e-mail. Lakes Environmental must receive full payment for the invoice prior to the course in order to confirm registration. Failure to pay the invoice in full prior to the course start date may result in non-admittance into the course.



I want to send a cheque for my registration. Where should I send it?


Cheques should be made payable to Lakes Environmental Software and can be mailed to our office at:

Can I register for a course over the phone?


Unfortunately we cannot accept phone registrations. Please complete a registration form with all of the required information and either fax it to 519-746-0793 or e-mail it to



I sent in my registration form. Should I start making my travel arrangements?


Please avoid making any travel arrangements until you have received a course confirmation e-mail. Once we confirm that a course has enough participants to proceed, we will send you a notification by e-mail that your enrollment is confirmed. This e-mail is sent out at least 15 days prior to the course start date. We advise that you wait until you receive this e-mail before making any travel plans. Lakes Environmental cannot be held responsible for any charges incurred for attendees who need to cancel travel reservations in the event that a course is cancelled.



Do you offer any registration discounts?


If you register more than 30 days in advance of a course, you are eligible to receive a 10% discount off of the total registration fee. Full payment for the course must be received 30 days prior to the course in order to be eligable for this discount. EPA & State Regulators are also entitled to a 40% discount off of the registration fee. Discounts are not given for companies enrolling multiple attendees or to university staff or students. What is included in my registration fee?


Your registration fee includes admission to all days of the course, a set of course materials (including course notes, a copy of the presentation slides and a course CD), and a certificate of completion. The course registration fee does not include travel reservations or software.



Can I purchase AERMOD View at the course?


Our AERMOD View software is not included in the course registration fee and is not sold at the course facility. Course attendees wishing to purchase the software before or after the course can contact our sales department by phone at 519-746-5995 or by e-mail at to request a quotation. Course attendees are entitled to receive a 10% discount off the price of AERMOD View if purchased within 90 days of attending a course.



Can I pay for my registration at the course?


Unfortunately we are unable to allow participants to pay for their registration at the course by cash or any other forms of payment. Since seating is limited in the course facilities, all attendees must pre-register and pay in full prior to the course date.



I have to cancel my registration. Do you provide refunds?


Cancellations made 7 days in advance of the course are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made between 5 and 7 days notice are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Any cancellations made less than 5 days in advance of the course start date would receive no refund however, the course materials will be sent to you.

Are computers provided for use during the course?


While some course facilities provide computers for individual use during the course, other courses require each attendee to bring their own laptop to use throughout the duration of the course. When this is a requirement, a special note will be included on our course registration form.



Is the software included with course registration fee?


The AERMOD and CALPUFF air dispersion modeling courses utilize Lakes Environmental’s advanced graphical user interfaces, AERMOD View and CALPUFF View, during the hands-on portions of the course. Each attendee will be provided with a special installation of the software for use during the course. After the completion of the course, students will be provided a trial of the software for a short period allowing them to practice what they have learned during the course and do any course case studies they may not have had a chance to complete. The software can be purchased after the course at a discounted rate. An e-mail will be sent to each course attendee outlining the terms of this offer.
