CALRoads View: Meteorology Options

CALRoads View is Lakes Software’s interface for handling the CALINE series of air dispersion models. Used for assessing air pollutant concentrations from on-road emissions of motor vehicles, CALRoads View includes three models: CALINE4, CAL3QHC, and CAL3QHCR.

Customizing the Main Display

Lakes Software’s commercial applications all feature a similar look and feel. This familiarity allows users to easily execute a variety of air dispersion models even when accessing a brand-new product for the first time. The image below uses AERMOD View to demonstrate the key components of each Lakes Software application.

CALRoads View: Hourly Concentration Output in CAL3QHCR

CALRoads View includes three mobile source air dispersion models: CALINE4, CAL3QHC, and CAL3QHCR. These models are used for predicting air pollution concentrations of carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), particulate matter (PM), and other inert gases from idle or moving vehicles.

CALRoads View: Import Group Links

CALRoads View makes it very easy to input links to a modeling project using one of the CALINE series of models (CALINE, CAL3QHC, CAL3QHCR). While it’s common to graphically depict links, CALRoads also allows modelers to import links using an Excel spreadsheet template. This is useful for modelers who have all of their inputs defined or those who have a lot of data to input. The template spreadsheet is found in the C:\Lakes\CALRoads View\Templates folder.

Lakes Software Applications: Using Annotations

One feature of Lakes Software applications that our users have come to appreciate, is the wealth of customization options available to provide high quality visualization of model output. Beyond the usual drawing tools for adding model objects, each application contains a set of Annotation Tools which allow users to add additional objects to the main display.
